Halogenated Drug Recovery System (HDR) Sustainable Solution

Halogenated Drug Recovery System (HDR)

The Halogenated Drug Recovery (HDR) system, a revolutionary solution in healthcare for managing anesthetic waste. Positioned after the scavenging system, the HDR effectively captures 99% of anesthetic gases, greatly reducing environmental impact. This system allows hospitals to operate with a minimal ecological footprint, tackling the crucial challenge of anesthetic waste with high efficiency.

Highly efficient

The HDR captures 99% of the anesthetics waste which would otherwise be released into the atmosphere.

High net benefit

With high capture rates of potent greenhouse gases, this system's environmental gains outweigh emissions from recovery, transport, and production, achieving up to 90% CO2 reduction.

Cost efficient

The adsorber tank's capacity is tailored to each healthcare facility's needs, with replacement intervals up to 6 months, cutting operational costs significantly.

Key Features

Halogenated Drug Recovery System (HDR) Sustainable Solution

The HDR is equipped with two adsorption tanks containing the proprietary adsorbent Halosorb. One tank will be online operating in the Adsorption Mode while the other tank is offline. When the operating tank is filled with adsorbed halogenated drug, the system automatically switches to another tank containing refreshed adsorbents.

The HDR employs a proprietary technique known as ‘desorbing’ to process anesthetics, enabling the recovery of these substances from tanks in liquid form. The reclaimed drugs are then returned to a drug supplier for recycling and subsequent use in hospitals. This approach minimizes waste and contributes to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, showcasing an environmentally sustainable practice in healthcare.

The system is outfitted with cutting-edge gas analyzers that precisely measure the levels of halogenated drugs in the exhaust. These analyzers offer proactive warnings when tanks are nearing their capacity and need replacement. This feature enables continuous monitoring of the system's efficiency, allows for the proactive planning of service operations, and ensures uninterrupted operations.

The system is equipped with a claw-type compressor, which ensures a constant flow through the system and eliminates back pressure. This design feature facilitates the seamless integration of the HDR system into existing Waste Anesthetic Gas Disposal (WAGD) or Anesthetic Gas Scavenging Systems (AGSS) installations.
