All ASSE 6000 Series credentials are issued to the individual only, there is no company or employer reference on them.

However, for installers with an ASSE 6010 credential, the brazing qualification record (Form: QB-484) is linked to the BPS (Brazing Procedure Specification) and BPQ (Brazing Procedure Qualification) that is specifically followed during the brazer’s qualification practical exam with MMG Credentialing. As per NFPA 99 Ed.2024: section 5.1.10.11.11.5, the employer shall obtain a copy of the BPS (Brazing Procedure Specification) and the supporting qualification records from MMG Credentialing then sign and date these records, thereby accepting responsibility for the qualifications that were performed. If you switch employers, the new employer may accept your qualifications if the employer meets the requirements outlined in the NFPA 99 Ed.2024: section 5.1.10.11.11.6.

BeaconMedaes also has customizable training packages for facilities if they wish to train their employees on those facility’s specific Medical Gas Pipeline System (MGPS). These facility-specific trainings come with a certificate and reference to that facility, but they are not ASSE 6000 Series credentials.

No, as per the MyMedGas Credentialing Privacy Policy, your credential is public and can be verified online by anyone. For more information on the exact data that will be public, please refer to the policy.

Yes, we can migrate any existing ASSE 6000 series credential from an approved credentialing body to MMG Credentialing. However, there is a fee associated with this migration, it will provide the added benefit of having all credentials in one system for ease of management and recertifications.

To renew or recertify any of the ASSE 6000 series credentials you need to supply your previous credentials and any associated documentation. Then take an approved course that outlines the updates of the latest NPFA 99 edition, as well as passing a final exam. This is roughly a 4-hour online course, and you can find it in our webshop as "ASSE 6000 (2021 to 2024 Ed.) Recertification”.

Note:

  • Depending on the ASSE 6000 series credential, you may need to take a different course or exam version as some of the standards have slightly different curricula.

  • If your current credential is expired then there is a grace period, see MyMedGas Credentialing for more info, where you can still take the refresher course and exam. If your credentials expiration falls outside of that grace period then you will need to take the entire course again from the beginning.

Typically, the ASSE 6000 series credentials are valid for 3 years, from the date of passing the final exam. MMG Credentialing reserves the right to cancel a Certificate Holder’s credential at any time if there is any reasonable doubt of the Certificate Holder’s continued ability.

To renew/recertify an ASSE 6010 credential, the applicant shall provide a valid brazing qualification record (Form: QB-484) and proof they have brazed with this procedure at least every 6 months from the date of qualification (Form: QB-322). If the applicant cannot provide sufficient evidence, they shall be required to take the practical exam and requalify again.

By default, MMG Credentialing offers credentials in 3 digital formats: PDF, Mobile Wallet ID Card for your mobile phone or tablet, and a Digital Badge. If the applicant would like a physical ID Card and/or paper certificate, then they can purchase them for a fee. Please, while purchasing on the BeaconMedaes webshop, add this option and you will receive both the ID card and a paper copy.

For more information, please reach out to: [email protected]. We are happy to help answer any questions.

No, depending on the BPS (Brazing Procedure Specification) and BPQ (Brazing Procedure Qualification) that you completed there may be limitations. These limitations can be found on the brazing qualification record (Form: QB-484) form that was signed off by the third party CWI Inspector.

No, MMG Credentialing is a separate body that will test any candidate's competence, regardless of where they took the physical training class. For an applicant to be an eligible candidate they will need to provide the required information and documentation to show their compliance of the prerequisites of the ASSE 6000 series standard.

Yes, it does. BeaconMedaes has partnered with MyMedGas (MMG) Credentialing and Accredible to provide a seamless experience. It is possible to register for a bundled package including the training (online or in person), the exam and a credential from MMG Credentialing.

Note:

  • BeaconMedaes also offers non-credentialed training courses. Please ensure, when you are signing up, that the training you have selected specifically states that a credential will be provided.

The candidate is responsible to arrange an in-person or virtually proctored practical exam through MyMedGas (MMG) Credentialing. The candidate is also responsible for providing all materials & equipment, and for the shipping of the pipe coupon and other documentation to a designated third-party laboratory for visual and sectioning tests.

A MyMedGas (MMG) Credentialing supervisor will verify if an applicant’s prerequisites have been met and will issue a credential to successful applicants within 7 business days. If the supervisor has any questions or concerns that might delay this process, they will reach out to the applicant directly.

Note:

  • If you are applying for a ASSE 6010 Installers certificate, then a certificate is not issued until the 3rd party lab receives the tests that the applicant has sent to the lab, and additionally approves the physical brazing coupon.

  • If an applicant has chosen for the physical ID Card, then the receipt of it may be delayed depending on the USPS delivery system.

If you don't pass the written exam on your first attempt, you may retake it up to three times in total. If you are unsuccessful after three attempts, please contact MyMedGas Credentialing at [email protected] for further guidance.
