BeaconMedaes extends the range of the Next-Generation PMA Medical Air Supply System

November 26, 2025 –Following the launch of the Next-Generation PMA Medical Air Supply System (Sep 2023), to further meet hospitals’ need for custom-configured medical air systems, BeaconMedaes is proud to announce the extension of the range, through the introduction of PMA XL.
PMA is a modular, compact air purification module that customers can match with their preferred Atlas Copco compressor type and size. With its proven purification technology, state-of-the-art controller, and leak-free assembly, this solution ensures premium performance and reliability.
PMA range extension
The PMA range is extended with the addition of two new models: PMA XL1 and PMA XL2, these additions are designed to deliver enhanced performance and flexibility for medical and surgical air applications.
- PMA XL1 features the Atlas Copco QD+ filter, an advanced activated carbon line filter without hopcalite catalyst.
- PMA XL2 combines the Atlas Copco QDT+ filter, an activated carbon tower with a standard hopcalite catalyst, which converts carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide for added safety.
The new XL models complete the PMA portfolio across three outlet pressure configurations:
- 4 bar for medical or surgical air, maximum outlet flows up to 7,158 l/min
- 7 bar for surgical air, maximum outlet flows up to 9,276 l/min
- 10 bar for combined surgical and medical air, maximum outlet flows up to 11,742 l/min
Like the existing PMA S, M, and L variants, the XL models meet all relevant technical standards and compliance requirements, including MDR, HTM 02-01, ISO 7396-1:2016, and ISO 13485. For more information about these models, please refer to our previous press release.
